Junior Olympic Coach Job Description
Title: Regional JO Club Volleyball Coach
Description: Head coach for girls youth volleyball (ages 10s-15s). Will be responsible for all aspects of directing and organizing team’s practice and play. May have an assistant coach. Must be able to provide instruction for a variety of athletic abilities. Support and resources will be made available if necessary. Team will consist of 9 players. Season will run from the beginning of January until April/May. Practices will be held 2 times a week at a local gym for 1.5- 2 hours. There will be 6-8 tournament dates. Tournaments may be 1 or 2 days played primarily on Saturday and/or Sundays. Coaches will provide their own transportation and at their own expense. Will be evaluated at the end of the season.
Teach appropriate fundamental skills of volleyball, positions, game play to youth athletes.
Provide a positive and motivating atmosphere that is safe and enjoyable to all.
Develop each athlete's confidence and competitive spirit.
Promote individual/team growth in sportsmanship, teamwork, and camaraderie.
Supervise players before, during, and immediately after practices and tournaments.
Communicate with parents, players, other coaches, and club directors in a professional manner.
Conduct a parent meeting at the beginning of the season.
Play an active role in scheduling practice times & tournaments.
Must have volleyball playing/coaching experience
Must have good energy and willingness to go above and beyond to help athletes continue to love and learn the sport of volleyball
Must complete OVR certification
Must be of good character, NO criminal record

Tryouts: Sunday, October 23, Sunday, October 30, Sunday, November 13 (tentatively)
Practices 2x a week beginning first week of January - OVR Championships
